It's picture day!!

Buh Bye one legger...

Hello LSD!

New ubolts bent up by a local spring shop.

Apex SS brake hose.

And to celebrate the front end being done...a little added rice.

Needs to be shortened and have a new yoke added.

Stick your ass in the air, wave it around like you just done care....or something.

Par for the course on this project, more parts needed and lots of things left to do. It's getting closer with every bolt I turn.

Dropped the driveshaft off at fleetpride for a shortening and rear yoke swap. Going to try and hit up a truck at the junkyard this weekend that might have the shoe anchors I need to finish my 60mm shoe swap. Things are moving along.

Got the call this morning, driveshaft all set to go! Got one of my delivery drivers picking it for me as I type this. We should be all ready to go in the h233b swap department.

Looky what I pulled today! Another piece of the puzzle in the bag. These will allow me to run the 60mm wide 4wd brake shoes instead of the 45mm 2wd shoes. No one in their right mind is going to do what I am doing. There are no early h233b axles with disc brakes around. I am too deep into this to go with a Dana axle. I am spending my money un-wisely so you don't have to. I will say that the mid 80's first edition of the HB is a strange bird. $6 for both so I am not out huge amounts and I can keep my 'jukyard parts' theme.

My calculations were correct, the 4wd anchor blocks were the key. Now I do need to switch to 4wd wheel cylinders. Ordering those this week.

Replaced all the wheel studs in the back.

Ran new brake lines from the splitter to the backing plates.

Driveshaft installed, it fit perfectly.

10 sq.in more surface area goes to the 4wd shoes.

I will need 4wd wheel cylinders after further review but the good news is the anchor blocks work!!

Holding up a 4wd shoe. Note all new wheel studs. Did both sides.

And that's all I was able to get done in 6 hours. Ordering the wheel cylinders today. Next time I am out I am going to install the shoes and hardware and plumb the front lines from the master cylinder...also bleed and install the new master clinder while I am in there.

4wd wheel cylinders arrived. They are the same as the 2wd units except they stick out further to clear the anchor blocks. Next weekend I swap over, then the shoes/hardware get installed. Drums were painted so they don't rust before I take pics. From there I will run new lines from the master to the calipers and wrap up by bench bleeding the master as well as bleeding the rest of the system. This truck never had good brakes, it will now!

Also had the graphics shop cut me some new autocross numbers. My race number this year is 850...anyone know why I might have chose that number?
