Not quite. You'll need to use the distributor and timing cover from the 97. They made a few small changes for OBD2 in the 96 and 97 trucks.

Yeah, like SBJ said, that one won’t be 100% plug and play but the block and head are the same. It would be a good time to do the timing chain and all that anyway so just put your timing cover on it and your intake manifold.
