Gasket material left behind preventing the intake manifold from sealing to the head properly. That will let coolant get in the cylinders.

When this thing smokes it really smokes, and the hoses are not rock hard they are soft with the cap on. It runs really good otherwise. Perhaps the coolant erupts the thermostat is wide open and it could be good flow from the waterpump, it does decrease and eventually stop. Ive never encountered a engine with the intake coolant running in parallel to the runners. This is my spare intake manifold I have three

If it's coming out the radiator then it's a head gasket.

Well I changed the intake manifold gasket, still smokes. There was a nick on the manifold and I really went after it with the scotch bright, in that spot coolant leaked to the outside.

The engine from the junkyard looks really good, recently painted and I think the pistons and rings are good.

Im going to swap the cyl head from the engine that spun the rod bearing.

Just going to pull the engine and rebuild it on a stand, so new head gasket timing chain kit etc.
