Default 94 D21 KA Gas Use and Smell

OK, since getting Little Big Red, I have noticed a massive smell of gas when starting and idling. I have filled up 2x so far in 2 weeks, but have only put about 100 miles on her so far and am at 1/4 tank again. Exhaust spits out white smoke when started and fades as she warms up.

I do have a CEL on, but when doing diag, I cannot keep track of the flashes... too many codes maybe? Other than the above, she runs like a champ.

I found that reading the codes took a little practice. Give it couple extra goes.

Could be many things, but ...

Do 1) a compression test on the cylinders, and 2) a "block test" using a free loaner kit from AutoZone (get the fluid too; might have to pay for it). Also other normal checks for a bad head gasket.

Fuel consumption/smell sounds mostly like a fuel leak. Be safe!

Are you trying to count the check engine light flashes or the flashes on the ECM? It’s much easier to watch the ECM.

Joe made a great video that shows how to do it. http://www.infamousnissan.com/forum/...ad.php?t=31527
