Default Interesting evening to say the least

So this early evening, Iím outside in the yard and I hear police sirens. 7 cops come screaming down the road, asked for a house by number and hauled ass. They were chasing the kid that had something to do with the toyota that was stolen from my yard this past summer.

They canít find him, he was running on foot and had eluded them down a set of railroad tracks that run through the woods. So after the cops left, Iím sitting in the car and I hear my stepson yelling there he is there he is.....and sure as hell the dude ran out of a vacant house across the street.

I take off on foot after him with my 45 drawn, and my neighbor had a friend over and he was carrying also. We got the guy cornered at gunpoint, he goes to his knees crying and asking what did he do......and as my neighbors friend went to roll him over as I am drawn down on him from 15 feet back, he got up and ran through the woods towards another house, kicked the door in and ran out the back door.

Another two police units were circling the top end of the street, I whistled at them while my stepson was on the phone with 911. As Iím heading to the back of the house and the neighbors friend charged in after him, two chattanooga units come flying up the driveway, I have my weapon drawn, the cop looks at me and i said back door....and out he came to the arms of a very well fit cop.

He got tackled, cuffed and body slammed against the trunk of a crown vic. And all that action took place in the span of about two minutes.

Donít fuck around in my neighborhood. He had seven active felony warrants, plus breaking and entering, resisting arrest, fleeing and eluding, and since there were kids in the house he entered, probably child endangerment.

And when the cops were taking down my info, he said thanks man we have been after him all afternoon, but I gotta say he legal thing.....you shouldn’t have put yourself at risk. But thank you very much for your help.

They didn’t give two shits about my weapon being drawn when they came running. I guess they saw us chasing him across the road and into he house. As soon as they were there, I immediately reholstered my weapon.

It kinda feels good knowing I had a hand with his apprehension. And man what an adrenaline rush. I learned to always maintain your distance in self defense class. They preach about how fast a distance can be closed up and that is for real.

Good work man! Kinda goes against the narrative where there is never a good guy with a gun.

Cool story for sure, Spent almost 5 years in law enforcement, had a few adrenaline rushes during that time.

This October I'll be testing for my 3rd Dan in Shotokan Karate, and you are absolutely correct about that distance thing
