I've had a Pathfinder cluster running in my '97 Hardbody for months thanks to this thread. Recently got hold of a cluster from an SE-V6 with the digital tripmeter and there is no light to the clock or trip meter and the trip meter has no characters showing in it at all. Should any other pins be powered or jumped to make use of this cluster?

Thanks!

Need to know what year you got the cluster from, also truck or pathfinder?

Cluster came from a 94 or 95 SE-V6 Pathfinder. After driving around a bit the speedo exhibited some odd behavior. It was non-op, then went up to speed, then died. Not sure if this is related to the dead trip meter LCD or not.

Unless you got the harness with the replacement cluster, your original doesn’t have enough wires to light it up.

I have an XE-V6 Pathfinder cluster in the truck now. Clock works and illuminates correctly. Does the one with the LCD trip meter need additional wiring? The pins mentioned in this thread have been powered.

Got another cluster. This one's from a '94 SE-V6 Pathfinder and my truck is a a '97. Speedometer and odo work, clock works with light functioning properly, just no lights or characters in the trip meter.

Any help greatly appreciated.

On the 94, the twin trip gets switched 12vdc from the Green/White wire on pin 2. It gets constant power from the Red/green wire on pin 4. I don’t have the wiring diagram for the 97 on my phone but the 96 should be the same, I don’t see a twin trip option in the FSM and those pins aren’t used on the 96. So you should be able to just put power on those wires and it should work.

Thanks, Bama. One more question, what pin is the low fuel indicator on the '94 Pathfinder cluster? Just remembered that hasn't worked since I've been swapping Pathfinder clusters and I've had a few in my truck now.

The '97 truck shows pin 16. I'm gonna get the PM you for a copy of that manual soon.

Thanks again!

The diagram for the 94 shows pin 16 as well. I have the 97 FSM, I just don’t have it on my phone. And right now my computer is fucked. I’ve gotta get it looked at, I have way too much priceless softball video on that thing.

You should have gotten the pathfinder gauge harness. It’s plug and play at this point.
