Default Question about boring eskies

I bored one of my eskie rims but it's shy of 1/2" deep due to the fact that I would bore through the whole rim if I went deeper because the bearing doesn't have anything to ride on (because these rims have 2 lips) do I need a bigger bearing to ride on the outer lip?
