I was wondering that myself, Have you figured out the issue? My 97 has been giving me hell! I cannot figure out the problem....

This should not be an issue on newer Hardbody trucks. I don't know the year, but Nissan discovered the problem and fixed it. I think there was even a service bulletin where owners with the issue could bring their truck in to have it fixed, but I don't know if Nissan still does that.

Old thread I know, but did anyone ever find out if this problem exists on the VG30e engines, and if so where those splices are located? Having a similar elusive stumble/idle issue and want to eliminate this as a possibility.

Found it. This is where those splices are on the VG30E engine. Right near the front. One of them is already apart, the other is still taped up just below it.

This flaw from the factory was known and corrected before your 1994 was made. It's more likely that you found a shady repair job from a previous owner.

I guess it's possible, but they were hooked together with factory splices and my intermittent misfire seems much better after soldering them. Doesn't hurt to give it a try for other folks having this issue with a V6!
