My JDM came out of a Pathfinder, even thought the eBay auction said Frontier/Xterra. To get the oil pan to fit, I had to trim the 2x4 engine crossmember.

According to Spectra Premium there are 2 different pans for the vg33. Part numbers NSP25A for the Xterra/Frontier and NSP25C for the Pathfinder. NSP25B fits wd21 pathfinders and looks exactly like the A according to dimenions. You can clearly see the difference in the vg33 Pathy oil pan. I think I am going to get lucky here and not have to swap pans.

![]() Pretty sure mine was pathy. Oil pan was barely different from my VG30 pan. I'd bet ~.025" in difference which hit the front diff. The piping for the pickup tube is deferent on the VG33 so I clearanced my VG30 pan for it. Beat it with a hammer. I couldn't get my motor out without pulling the diff.

How hard is it to pull the diff. I was probably 2-3mm to low but used a pry bar to sneak the oil pan over the diff. Popped out with force that's for sure tho. |

Removing isn't hard. Disconnect the CVs, driveshaft and I believe it's 3 more bolts and it'll roll out. Holding it up in place to put it back in is a bitch. It has to roll into place. It hooks over the cross brace below the motor and comes in from under the frame.
Disconnect the breather or risk damaging the breather lines before removing it.
