Why not just drop a SB 350 under the hood? It's already been done... search the site. Crate motors work great... These trucks were never ment to be fast or haul what a full sized truck can do. Look at who developed them, everything there is going smaller and smaller. Honestly, if you want "more", there are other options.

I’m looking for better fuel mileage and power. I doubt a 350 would be the way to go on it. I would assume a turbo setup with good internals would be enough for it. Just hoping to get on the interstate with these crazy drivers and be able to get out of the way if I need to and catch some high rpm’s if need be. Mainly want the efficiency of a turbo setup.

I've seen a VG30DETT in a HB.

The stock crank will be fine. I'm currently running 20psi boost with mine, using Crower rods and Wiseco pistons.

Spearguy, you might want to look over the fence at the Nissan 240SX. I believe it came with the same KA 2.4.
