I went through ebay. I was a little disappointed it arrived less assembled than the ad showed but I got a partial refund and have found most of the missing pieces so far. The engine itself is very clean.

Update:

Timing belt and tensioner done...easy.
New throw out bearing pressed on, you need a press or vise to do this.
New painted valve covers installed....pretty.
SE seats out of a junkyard truck dated 5/97 installed...they are cloth with lumbar and I dig the pattern on the fabric.

So I heard rumors the sc flywheel is different, this is true. The na engines have a different flywheel so the sc clutch pressure plate will not bolt on. I am forced to make a purchase I was hoping to avoid. My plan to have the engine and trans together and sitting in the frame this past weekend were foiled by this. Soon.

Flywheel ordered. Valeo V2412 seems to be the only option. $105 shipped from the Rock.

Nice update, just wondering and maybe you said it but I missed it if so. Do you need the computer and wiring harness for this or will any VG computer/engine harness work?

The vg30e ecm will run the engine but it does not recognize boost so I need a piggyback system that does read boost and retards timing. MSD BTM box is pricey but seems to foot the bill. It's that or I need to pull the entire harness and transplant the sc one. Avoiding that because I feel I can make this work.

T stat done. Went with 170 deg.
Bypass hose and gasket done.
Did more clean up.
Replace a few grommets on the timing cover.
Removed the flywheel since it will not work.
Pulled front diff to make left cv shaft easier to replace. Also will help when the engine and trans slip into the frame.
Need to order a used flywheel, i found one.
Cleaned up and went home.

Did you replace the knock sensor while you were in there? If not you may want to replace it or relocate it before you get the engine installed.

Planning on relocating that. Those sensors get roasted sitting in the valley. I am planning on moving it to a serviceable location.

Flywheels between na and supercharged engines are very different. The oem sc flywheel is discontinued. It was very expensive when in production.

Do not buy the valeo flywheel off rockauto, it is incorrect!!!!!

Your only choice is used or going with a na clutch and flywheel setup. The holding power of the other na vg clutch setups is not as high, just fyi. So I went used and got one of the last ones listed on car-part.com. It showed up today. It needs to be turned, i can do that myself at work. But because i went with the correct i get to use my Exedy clutch and pressure plate as intended.

I recommend South Bend Clutch. I use their 400ft/lb clutch in my vg33et swapped Z31. Holds power really consistently.
https://www.southbendclutch.com/clutches/7435/
^This is the page for 2000-2004 Frontiers. I'm sure if you do a bit of digging, you can find the one you need.

Edit: I have the stage 2 "Endurance" clutch in my Z31. I have another stage 2 "Endurance" clutch ready to go into my d21 whenever i get off my ass and install a vg33e into it. It's meant for a "late"(1987-1989) Z31 turbo car with a similar 30A transmission that's in the v6 trucks. Z31 30A is longer, but I think they use the same flywheel.
