Default z24i is almost dead ?s about KA swap

motor is knockin pretty bad now, i am tempted to swap for a ka24de, ive heard the motor bolts to the trans and motor mounts and is there a certain year the motor should be like pre-obd2? , my HB is a 1986.5 napz motor and 5 speed manual. thanks

Hate to bring up old thread but a buddy burned up my z24i. I need a new engine now. I'm keeping the truck for sentimental reason so need to figure this one out. Do I just go KA?

It would be much easier to install a running z24. You would have to swap over all the wiring for a ka24e.

Ka bell housing bolt patterns the same as napz so yes the motor will bolt
Up. However figuring out the engine mounts is one thing, plus you need the intake mani, wire harness, ECM, high flow fuel pump, sensors, lots of electrical knowledge, and some other shit I'm forgetting right now. You up for the challenge? I ask this because I'm doing a ka Swap on my 80 720 right now and it's more than meets the naked eye. Rebuild
Or buy another used napz will
Save you time and a lot of headaches bro
