Default Hello from Arizona

Greetings everyone! I have spent enough time stalking this forum for info on how to do things, so I decided that I might as well register. Initially, I bought my 96' Nissan Hardbody King Cab to have something to haul tools, brush, and garbage and not care if I beat the vehicle up. I had just traded in my 2014 Tundra because it wouldn't fit in my garage and I was tired of letting the pigeons crap on my $40K truck. Still needed a truck and bought the turd of all hardbodies. Originally red, faded to pink, not one panel on the entire vehicle was straight, what seemed to be millions of dents and dings, 232K miles, busted windshield, garbage tires, the AC clutch bearing squealed like Deliverance, mangled bumpers, grille was garbage, craptastic Grimmace colored tint, interior looked like a homicide was committed inside the truck...It does run well.

Who cares, right? Beater work truck... well, not exactly. I'm a retired Air Force fighter jet mechanic and miss tearing stuff apart. Needless to say the truck is now lowered, (static )timing chain tensioner and guide issues resolved, new windshield, leaf spring bushings, purple tint removed, new set of tires waiting to go on, the body is 65% dent free and primered, numerous junkyard runs accomplished to harvest parts that were missing, and tons of new parts coming in the mail. What began as a truck that should have been parked in the bottom of a lake is now a restoration mini truck project.

So here goes, I look forward to learning from all of you, and hopefully contributing something to help others along the way.

Hey! I'm in Surprise, and also in the Air Force(reserves). What junkyards did you go to that had a decent selection of parts? Only had the truck for a few weeks and I have some interior panels that need screws and such. I've looked online but I think a salvage yard might be my only hope for some of the stuff. Thanks.

Just Truck and Van may have what you are looking for. There are also a few more yards on Broadway. A lot of the trucks that I've found have been pretty well picked over, but you'll sure be able to find the screws and such you are looking for. Don't forget to check the Nissan Pathfinders and Frontiers for hardware as well.
