It's in Park. In fact, I'm not sure if I can get it out of Park. The power has to be On to move the shifter to Neutral. It might be stuck in the garage.

Power on and your foot on the brake. The engine doesn't have to be running. If you do need to move it there should be a little plastic cover by the gear shift. A lot of the time it's right by the "P". Pry it out with a little screwdriver then press the button down and it'll unlock the shifter.

Thanks for that tip. I was able to get it out of the garage.

If you are on Facebook, here's what I did today.

Right on. Were you able to get it out of park without using the override switch?

They looked at recalls in the past when I brought it in for the melting dash problem. It was a known issue, but no recalls.

I've got the digital service manual too, but I didn't see anything about how to reset this issue. I could have been searching for the wrong term. Is NVIS what I should be looking for?

No, I had to use that override switch. Thanks for that.

What is it, the brake switch or obd2 port? I can't look right now because the dealership has it.
