Default Grill swap

I have a 1987 hardbody, would a newer grill like a 92 bolt up like an 87 grill?

I am not certain that it will.
My truck (86.5) has a pathfinder style grille and composite headlamps. I do not know for sure if my truck came stock with this option. I have seen other stock versions of 86.5, 87, 88 with this same pathfinder style grille/headlight combo. I also believe that I have seen those three years with the hardbody style grille and glass sealed beam headlights. Depending on which version of the truck you have will determine if the newer style grill is a direct swap or not......
I am sure that someone will be along soon enough to help explain why some did and some did not have sealed beam headlight.

I know mine has a sealed beam and the 93 has the same sealed beam as well. I just don't want to order a grill and it not fit. Looking for a positive answer lol

Any year grille from 86.5 to 97 EXCEPT 88 & 89 will bolt right in, the 88 & 89 grilles are different as they use the Pathfinder style headlights.

the grille you want, does the headlight opening have a 45(angle) on the lower inside corner?

What this guy said.
Using a newer grille on the 86.5, you have to use the corner lights for said grille.
