So, do you know where that is on your truck? Sometimes they go bad, but usually there is bad wiring to it or the little wire in the MAF is dirty. You can clean the MAF using MAF cleaner. It isn't expensive.

I bought this little package deal a few years ago, and I've used it 3 times since then to clean my MAF and throttle body area - and I still have plenty to do it more.

Thanks, I just tried a can the the stuff on the right, might try another of those tonight and the one in the middle tomorrow! I just saw we're in the same town!

I haven't seen a can of MGD in several years...

As mentioned earlier in this thread it could be a plugged up catalytic converter. You could try unbolting it at the exhaust flange and starting the truck up. It'll be loud AF but if it runs better you've found the problem.

Your location says "home". So, are you from Longview or was that a joke?

Thanks, I'll have to try that.

I don't remember, I think I left it blank. I am in Longview.

Do you know a good mechanic you might recommend? I probably need to get it checked out to see what condition it's really in.

Kevin's Auto Service on Hwy 31 (over by the Rio) is really good.

I had the exhaust back pressure checked at a shop. It's good.
Probably need to check compression.

Are you still getting Code 41?

The service manual has a section on checking the air flow meter's functionality.

Download this to your PC (right-click, Save As...):

The air flow meter stuff starts on page EF & EC-256.

I'll be home after 6 if you want to swing by. I live in the house next to Shelia's on Hwy 31. Send me a text if you come out and have a hard time finding it. (Longview area code) 215 0350

Thanks. Yeah, I'm still getting 41 and 14. The air temp sensor connector is getting voltage, I may have another sensor I can try...

Sorry. I stuck in an IMG tag instead of a URL tag. Take 2:
