1995 Nissan d21 pickup

Backstory: I had been looking for a small older pickup truck to drive to work and back Monday through Friday and to have fun with building on the weekend. I wanted something that was reliable and cheap. I found this little pickup on Facebook marketplace, the price was in my budget and the miles were low enough that I felt comfortable driving it to work and back. I went and met with the seller, who had only owned it for a few months after buying it from the original owner and was looking for an even more fuel efficient vehicle.

The good: the price was great, the truck only had 67,000 original miles and 2 owners which was confirmed through carfax. It was all original, no aftermarket anything through out the entire vehicle aside from a new radio and door speakers. Ive been driven it about 500 miles since I bought it and haven't had a single issue. There is no significant rust anywhere, only minor surface rust here and there.

The bad: The truck had been broken into once, there was glass underneath the seat, the steering column cover is barely hanging on, there wasn't a rear view mirror, there is a sizable dent in the bed, the pant is bad (fading, clearcoat is mostly gone, Sticker residue all over the place), the headlights were super dim, and some minor interior issues. the stock wheels are the 14" steelies and they have a lot of surface rust.

My plans:
-bucket seat swap
-deal with the minor interior issues (rearview mirror, steering column cover, door handle/arm rest, recover headliner, new sun visors, kilmat the interior, new steering wheel)
-new lighting interior and exterior
-static drop, im thinking 3inch drop blocks and a redrill in the back and djm control arms in the front.
-I'd really like to get rid of the bed all together and have a custom flatbed built. I'm not really sure how feasible this will be as I haven't done much research into it but I really like the thought of it.
- DIY paintjob
- new wheels and tires (which is proving to be harder to find that I was expecting)
- roof light bar
-if the flatbed turns into a reality, a new exhaust will also accompany it.

**This list is subject to change as I go along**

I am open to suggestions, ideas, guidance, inspiration, criticism, and really anything haha. I haven't ever been in a position to have a build before so this is my first one ever and I am pretty excited about it. I have another vehicle that I can drive so if necessary this truck can be down for a period of time to work on it.

Last weekend I got started on this project.

Picked up a set of old pathfinder bucket seats at a junkyard in okay condition. They were pretty dirty but only one small hole. The pathfinder didn't have the center console in it anymore so I picked up an xterra console in hopes that I could make it work.

I also pulled the headliner out and got it ready to redo.

And got the rear view mirror installed

You have a nice low mileage base truck to build up. I would change all the fluids too and put some new plugs, wires etc. in it

Plugs were changed right before I bought it, I forgot to mention that. I plan to change out the fluids in the coming days. I'll order new wires too in the coming days!

It say "EAT". I have no idea why someone would use tape on the hood haha I'm going to attempt to get the tape residue off today.
