Wow was not expecting this type of help thank you guys so much, I will take all of your advice and take a look at it asap. I'll see if I can find a shop nearby to throw on a lift.

Brush guard is going to be hard to find. Even when you find them, the Nissan versions are mostly for looks. If you bang into something, they are going to bend and crush your hood - making a more expensive repair.

Oh, I've got a brand new brush guard (still in the box, unassembled), if you want to buy it.

I may be interested you got pics and a price?

It's still sitting in the box I received it in - unopened.

Get the truck first, then we'll work out how to sell it, but probably like $100 plus shipping (shipping is the scary part).

That's fair, thanks. And yeah I was about to say that hopefully since you just live a state over it won't be too bad. Juts out of curiosity which brush guard is it?

ive owned 2 vg30 v6 pathfinders, they where fantastic, now i own 2 hardbodies, one with the 4 cylinder, and one with a v6 im currently fixing. even though they both needed work, i would not enjoy another truck as much as i do these fun rides.

It's the one for the Desert Runner. One of our members bought one that came with a lot of new parts. I thought I was going to use it, but then went through a divorce and changed some priorities.

Oh I've never seen those before, well as long as it'll fit then I'm cool with it.

only 190K? shit that engine isnt even halfway used.

and welcome to IN.

Thanks. I just got done talking to the guy he says in the 2 years he has owned he hasn't looked at the timing belt at all. This makes me kinda nervous, when I do go over and check it out what should I look for??

compare his millage on the cluster to the millage he put down on the title. gives you a decent idea of how many miles he put on it since owning it. unless he switched out the cluster for a junk yard one.

if he has never looked at it or has had the belt serviced, it is a good idea to get it replaced, no telling how long it went with out getting replaced before he has owned it.

if you have a shop replace the belt after you buy it, at least then you have piece of mind. a timing belt change over isnt too bad in terms of replacing, but i am unsure of the labor times on the timing belt for the v6, i would have to look tomorrow at work, but if he is firm on the price after you tell him it will probably need a timing belt, well, i would still jump on it. its a good vehicle, but i would not trust putting alot of miles on it until you change that belt. hopefully he could give you a couple hundred buck discount.

oh and as far as checking the belt, that is something a mechanic could do for the inspection, but its a bit time consuming. they might not want to do it. that why i mentioned checking how many miles the dude put on that truck since he has owned it.
