Default Replacing radio antenna

I want to replace the radio antenna but I can't seem to be able to trace the antenna wire from the underside of the fender.
It appears to go into the cab above the blower motor and across to the radio from there.
Is that right?
If that is correct, it would also appear that I'll have to remove the blower motor along with the carpet and padding in the entire passenger floor area just to get at it.
Is this true?
Let me know.
Thanks !

remove the glove box than it will be easier to see it. no need to remove the carpet

Well, that sounds a whole lot easier than the way I was going to go about it.
I'll try it that way and let you know how it turns out.

taking out the blower motor might make it a little easier to get around, but i can't remember if it is necessary or not.

I talked to a guy who just adheared the stock antenna to the underside of the fender after he shaved it. sounded sorta sketchy but it worked fine. I didnt notice a difference but he said, "Its like turning your whole truck into an antenna." smack*

once upon a time i cut the antenna wire at the plug...ran a 16 gauge wire to the outer wire in the coaxel cable and grounged it. with the ineer wire i connected another peice of wire and ran it though the dash, up the a piller, and ran it towards the back of my car...i picked up stations that where farther away , like they where local...

My truck came factory w/out an antena and one was installed later by a stereo shop. I found this block off plate in the glove box.

I put the antena in the area below the wiper motors (I just slid it in with the fender off).

The antena does not work as well as it did on top of the fender but it still works good enough.

The block off plate is a factory piece and could possible be ordered from Nissan for a few bucks.
