Default Reliability

As my avatar suggests, I own an old 93 Nissan pickup. Great truck, and I love how reliable these things are. My question is, how does the reliability compare? How long mileage wise do the newer Frontiers last drive train wise?

Only time will tell, but I'm sure there are a few high mileage newer trucks out there by now.

My 05 had 137000 before I sold it and I replaced the clutch around 75000 miles and a cracked yoke on the rear end around the same time, and my 07 just broke 203000 and everything is original.

My 04 has had it's share of problems. 175 000 Miles on there now, 4-cyl 2wd. I've had problems with carrier bearings and I've been through 3 steering boxes. Last year I had a torsion bar snap clean in half. But I will say, I have had the truck for over 2 years now and I put a lot of miles on it, I've never touched the motor. New plugs when I bought it, and regular oil that's it.

My 00 has 191k miles. I think my alternator went out a couple years ago. Other than maintenance, I haven't done a thing. Great, awesome little truck.

Secondary Timing Chain Guides suck. There is a TSB on it, NTB09-128. I've seen some with 28K miles with the guides worn completely through. I've done at least a 100 of these including the 3.5s and 4.0s combined. Change the oil every 3750 miles to prolong them as much as possible.

This was my gravy when I worked at the dealership. Back then, they paid 7.8 hours on the 4.0s. Now, it's like a little over 4 hours. Woopie!
