Default Stuttering,sputtering D21

I have a 86 D21 4 wheel drive with a 2.4. lots of miles, (odometer retired at 224,000 miles) which was about 5 years ago. Daily driver and is driven ALOT! No unusual noises aside from the exhaust needing to be replaced. Exhaust side ICM quit working a while back, was instructed by a friend who happens to be a Nissan master technician to unplug it, so I did and have had no problems for the last 6 months. Recently though, it has developed a miss at idle which smoothed out during acceleration and through the power band, annoying, but I could overlook it. Now though, it has progressed into a miss constantly and drinking gas like a 1970's chevy350!!! I've replaced plugs, wires, cap and button, several vacuum lines, and no change. I replaced the o2 sensor and the engine temperature sensor a little over a year ago when it developed a idle problem and a slight miss and it solved the problem, but it was no where near as extreme as this and I doubt these sensors have already failed. Also, there are no oil consumption problems. Someone please enlighten me!

Thanks in advance.

Check your timing. Also did you use a factory temp sensor or aftermarket? That's the 2nd thing I would check.
