Default 4wd hub seal

While replacing my ball joints on my 1992 hardbody 4wd I noticed the hub seal on the passenger side hub looked rough. No big deal right, well I ordered a inner front hub seal for a 92 4wd pick up. Well the new seal I got from the part store didn't fit. I went back to Oreillys to get the right one for a 92 4wd and we searched and compared the original one to other years and found out the hub seal I needed was from and 85 Nissan truck

I don't get it, did the previous owner swap out the passenger hub from a 85 to the 92?
Does an 85 4wd hub even fit a 92 hardbody? What the hell

I had similar debacle with mine before, has a 86-89 driveshaft in the rear but my truck is a 93. No idea if it was the PO or a factory leftover.

Parts are interchangeable on that truck with similar models. My '88 got totaled years ago, so I replaced the front right wheel assembly. The junkyard pulled it from a '95 pathy. Stuff was beefed up on the later pathy's I guess, because the tie rod end thickness is a lot wider (like 3/16" wider) than the hardbody's, so now I got to remember that I have some pathy parts.
