Hello. I am the owner of D21 (1996KA24E) who lives in Japan. All English was automatically entered on the translation site.
It's been 7 months since the transmission broke. I can't buy the mission itself in Japan, so I want to buy it on ebay. I found a mission on ebay for the 1994-1995 model year, does it fit my 1996 model year? My vehicle is a 1996 model, 2WD, KA24E, King Cab. |

Well, it’s tough to say for sure. If these were truck for the US market the answer would be no, the 1996 model in the US had a crankshaft position sensor installed on the bellhousing. The previous models did not have the provision for this sensor. However, the transmission could be split in half and the bellhousing swapped to allow use but that’s a lot more work than just swapping the transmission.
I don’t know if any of this applies to a truck but for the Japanese market.

OP: Can the old transmission be rebuilt there? It may be easier to find needed internal parts rather than a whole "new" transmission. And I always assume that a used transmission needs to be rebuilt.

thank you for your reply.
I confirmed that my mission had a crankshaft position sensor on the bell housing. The counter shaft broke when owned by the previous owner. It was an export vehicle and could not be repaired by Japanese nissan. It was repaired by a Japanese mini truck specialty store, but it seems that there was a mistake. The entire mission was needed without even being able to disassemble the case. I've been looking for it in Japanese stores, but I couldn't find the 1996/97 model. Do you own one? |

Can it be used by attaching a 1996 bell housing to a 1995 mission?

Is this transmission on ebay for 1996-1997?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/383891366503 The description says 1986-2000. In the photo, the bell housing has a hole for the sensor. I want to buy it as soon as the mission in the photo arrives. If it is true that it will be compatible until 2000, can the transmission for frontier from 1998 to 2000 be attached to the hard body from 1996 to 1997? |

If it is, make sure you write to the seller the year, make, model, engine, 2WD vs 4wd, and that you need one with the hole for the sensor.
Note that seller has a US$500 "cord" (core) charge too.

...and what about shipping from Tenn to Japan? You'll need to contact this seller and see if he is willing to ship to Japan.
As it's listed: Shipping and handling
