I have better luck searching Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace.

There is 1 junk yard in town, and it still has the same picked over trucks that it had 5 years ago.

There was a 1999 Frontier with a V6 that I asked to buy from them, but they said I could only buy parts off of it. That truck is still sitting there. It could have supplied me with the VG33e, a newer 5-speed, 4x4 parts, higher geared rear end, upgraded brakes and suspension, and nice interior seats and stuff.

LKQ will sell them to the frame but not whole. The last few trucks have been complete, which makes me think they are estate buys or repoed vehicles. They don’t sit there very long. They don’t last 6 months. I might go snag the blue column cover and the glove box tomorrow. I need to check out the rear bumper on the one added today. The pictures do not tell the tale about dents.

Scored a Weber 32 36 carb and adapter plate off an 87 D21 Z24 engine today. Also got two more blue door handles. the carb needs to be rebuilt. When I took it off the engine, I turned it upside down and the gas was the color of coffee. No wonder the throttle linkage felt like it was in 30 degree molasses.

Also got a brand new ecm for the 94 ls400. That was a complete surprise.

I run a Weber 32/36 DGEV on my 1988 Mazda truck (12 years now), runs good.

My 2 cents is to check adapter plate(s) for perfect flatness, and sand flat using wet/dry on a sheet of glass if not perfectly flat. Because those adapters oftentimes are not flat and vacuum leaks there are not uncommon otherwise.

I scored a set of nissan floormats today. They are dirty nasty, but no rips or tears. Should be able to clean them up decent. I also scored a nice glovebox also.

Not nissan related, but I scored bigtime for my wife's integra. Got a front bumper, headlights, and a greddy catback.

Snagged a complete 1uzfe drivetrain for the Lexus today.....along with the ecm and the entire wire harness. And the transmission. All for 500 bucks. The engine in the car now is consuming (burning) 2 1/2 quarts of oil every 250 miles. I suspect it has a broken piston oil ring. The number one plug is oil fouling every three weeks. It looks like it has been dipped in the truck spray on bed liner.

So yeah the LS is about to get a heart transplant. I ordered the cam and crank seals today. Still need the timing belt/water pump kit and the valve cover set.

Default Motor and Diffs

Picked up the engine (with accessories and manifolds) and front and rear diffs from a 03 Xterra for use in my 95 4x4 pickup. Was a clean one owner, apparently serviced at the dealer, 147,000 miles. Totaled out in Feb - looked like it slid under something on an icy road - nice junk yard find! Diffs are 4.90s just need to get spring perches welded to the top of the axle for the truck (Xterras are spring under axle).

Also pulled heads off a 94 pickup to use the cams and lifters out of. That truck only had 165,000 miles, but the engine had a Nissan Authorized Refurbished tag behind the right head.

All totaled $560 out the door with extended warranties (7 months). Time to start wrenching!
