Unbolted the motor from the trans so I can get a hand getting it pulled out a bit. Then cleaned up my buddies shop so we can roll the cherry picker around.

I put a towel on it not to scratch the thing, so it goes back to the store on a 20% restock. Still looks like new. The other tools, a few others, I'll just keep. The starter was free, it was an exchange on a lifetime replacement warranty.

was this on a 4x4? i thought it was a 2wd but you just stated "Gear oil front and back" which implies a front axle which = 4x4

New battery installed. Starter was acting up. Solenoid would make noise but she wouldn't crank over. After fiddling around with it I finally got it to fire up. Have made several trips for work and it's been doing ok now... Maybe it's done acting up and will stay on the road for a while.

Mine did that for about 2 years until it finally just stopped clicking altogether, usually ends up being a bad connection at the battery or starter

It's done it again a few times today. I guess I'll need to get in there and try to clean up the connections at the starter. There's all kinds of oil and crap all over it, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's the problem.

retensioned wheel/ hub nut after doing brakes. Suprisingly not much movement at all.

I actually had no idea how good the front brakes in our trucks really are until now! Man Nissan used to know how to build real trucks
