I will be off to a junkyard tomorrow to find the proper brackets. What size of bolts are the brackets held in with?

I want to say M10. Grab a 8mm, 10mm, 12mm and 14mm socket and box end at very least. Big bolts are 14mm heads. Small are probably 10-12mm. If you find some grab the tensioner bracket for the alternator too. It is slightly different. Might be work snagging the power steering tensioner unit too just in case.

Most of that should be in my thread. I'm trying to remember.

the VG30 and VG33 are similar from the Intake down. injectors just have different plugs on the older trucks. My 92 had Square plugs with the metal retainer and the vg33 i used had the ovular clipped ones. I swapped mine over it was a simple enough solder job as a fuel injector is effectively a solenoid and as long as the power and ground are solid they will function. Now, are you using the front mounted oil filter housing, are you going to utilize the original VG30 location or both. being a 4x4 first option is easy to do as the 4x4 doesn't have the Baffling and Windage tray the 2wd pan does so the sump on the vg30 oil pan should accommodate the vg33's pickup tube. if they are usable also use the vg30 cams and the vg33 timing set(longer service interval). oh and the exhaust Manifolds may need drilled out a little, you want the bigger exhaust studs.

Good call. Forgot about the pan. Use the old pan to clear the diff. You will likely have to massage it for oil pickup clearance.

Alright, so I pulled the engine into the shop and put it onto the stand today and took off the intake manifold.

Then here is where the plot thickens, I have a supercharged xterra engine that looks all too tempting and is pretty much falling in my lap.

Of course this also probably means redoing the ecu and or adding nistune into the ecu.

Decisions...

That sounds fun. I've heard they are hard to get running properly without the factory ECM and harness. Too bad you are not closer to me, I'd like that intake plenum if you end up not using it.

I mean Oregon is a bit of a distance but you could definitely be further away. Why do u want the pathfinder plenum?

Do you think an aftermarket even would do the trick?
Seems like I can't find a single hardbody that has had this swap done.

I'm planning on using the xterra block and everything and will use my vg30 intake plenum, just to get it operational, drive it for a bit. Then decide if I wanna strap the supercharger on.

The temptation is real!

On your build thread which oil pump bracket did you end up ordering, to allow the clearance for the alternator?

I want the supercharger plenum. I have evil plans for my little truck. It's already quicker than is good for it and it's still TBI and starbes for fuel. I plan to start a MPFI conversion this winter and would love some boost.

I have the XTerra oil filter bracket. It's on the front. Gotta drop the skid plate every oil change. My entire motor is now XTerra spec externally.

Your alternator is on the driver side am I correct? I looked at some xterra at the wreckers today and couldn't find the alternator bracket on the driver side of the motor, all I could see was the mount for the ac compressor.
