I purchased ext cab windows, arm rests, sun visors and door panels from him. The door panels and arm rests made it ok, but the windows and visors were broken upon arrival. I guess you can't expect glass to make it without breaking when you pack it in a box that is the SAME SIZE as the glass!

He hasn't responded to my request for a partial refund (for the broken items), so I opened a Paypal claim.

Be warned!

maybe it is time for the admins and mods to get together and set a criteria for the ability to post in the for sale or for trade areas for new members.

i know it doesnt do you any good now, but it will avoid headaches like this in the future.

the criteria would be say 100 to 150 posts before you can see those sections, then the ability to respond and interact could kick in at the 200 or 225 mark.

i know its more work on the admins and mods, but the end result would be better as someone who is looking to make a fast buck wont want to hang around for the required post count.

just my opinion. if anyone things i overstepped any bounds by suggesting, please by all means let me know.

Their already is a 25 post count minimum for people who want sell here on the site. Also, the rules are listed of the other criteria as well.
I've been burned a few times on items not living up to the condition That was placed on them. I won't buy from anyone that is new to the site or anyone I haven't dealt with before with good results.

25? that seems a little low. it should be 150 or 200. you can make 25 posts in one day. i guess this is just a sad reminder that there are crooks out there, even if it is over some car part.

all ads are moderated 0 posts - 10000 posts doesnt matter. If i see a low post count member trying to sell something I will look into their posting habits... if its not a bunch of crappy one liners they will get their ad approved. If its obvious they are doing a bit of post whoring just to sell something then in the shit can it goes.

As for the member in question, he had a introduction, active build thread ect - More then enough activity to lend themselves as to being atleast able to display a for sale ad.

We need more details. Obviously their needs to be some recourse here but:

• When was the sale made?
• How long have you been trying to contact the seller?

PM'd - Please do not post personal details about the seller but feel free to add timeline/sale details to this thread.

I have PM'd and sent Fatlace90 an email

------
EDIT

Also - when posting negative feedback for a seller please note that in the title or send a mod a PM.

Just as a resolution and for future reference

Contacted both parties. Fatlace claims he is trying to recoup costs from shipper and has been busy with life stuff, 1989D21 was forced to make a claim with paypal to get a partial refund and was successful - and says Fatlace has become unresponsive.

This is obviously poor packing - no excuse for that. As a seller you need to put in the effort to protect the items you are shipping (whether that is proper packaging or appropriate insurance) and follow through with the sale. If you have time to take another users money you have time to see the sale through to the end and do the right thing if issues arise.
