so been fighting the truck a bit the last couple of weeks - ignition issues... ran through the whole system and replaced everything that Jegs had a chinesium version of, ran good for a bit but started missing and acting up again. Ended up at a buddies garage with a bunch of mechanics hammering away at the thing, found some brand new plug wires burned, tweaked on timing and carb etc etc etc... got the parts swapped out and the thing is running GREAT - can blow the 18's off from a roll again

Local law enforcement was not quite as impressed lol... surprised it took this long to get my first performance achievement award in this thing

Cop was cool haha, 'I don't care, but can't be doing that in front of me with all these other drivers around' ... wouldn't have done it if I saw ya ha!

Like clock work, I drive the truck in the fall and I break it - every year... Last year the trans started acting up and this year, this year we broke hard parts doing big smokey burnouts at my buddies halloween party.

A moment of silence for the stock HF35/H190 rear... she stayed alive longer then she should have, could probably have stayed together indefinitely if the driver had a lighter foot... I think the pinion is stripped clean of any teeth - the drive shaft will freewheel with the trans in neutral with barely any sound from the rear.

So yea - 2 years, probably 2k miles (never get to drive the thing anymore), and 2.5 sets of rear tires haha...Every stop sign and light treated like it was the xmas tree at the strip and lots of hooning around - the stock H190 was a trooper behind this mild v8.

I don't even think I am going to upgrade, anyone have a center section for sale?

Well at least you got a performance achievement award before it went. I got a complete axle sitting in the garage.

I hope to avoid the achievement award but just like you figure its going to happen at some point.

Local yard hasn't had any HB's since October and now that its cold and snowing they are showing up all the time.

Pulled a drum to drum rear out of the yard the other weekend and swapped things around.

I ended up breaking the cross shaft for the spider gears and sending some shrapnel into the pinion - was hoping for a bit more carnage

BUT the swap was not without its issues haha... I got the new rear from an ABS truck - the third member was 3/4" longer with the ABS ring assembly. I was hoping to just be able to swap the pinion flanges around and call it a day but no mix/match of parts was going to sort the issue.

Sooo pinion and carrier came out and went back into my original third member. Bolted it all back together with a prayer and reusing all the old seals/shims/and crush spacer... quiet & dry so far, worst case scenario - it starts howling and I pull the third member and take it to a shop to get freshened and setup correctly...

Got a quick mile or two between weather yesterday, everything seems happy - no new noises or vibrations

Anyone near 21102 need random axle stuff?

ABS center section & pinion flange. Also have L/R axles with backing plates & a complete axle housing... Free + shipping if needed.
