I received my $21.99 "Chrome" tailgate handle. Rock Auto's vendor. It IS plastic, as expected, it is NOT chrome colored. It is black. I have always said that a pessimist is never disappointed, well I did expect that I would just return it if I did not like it. Rock Auto wants me to pay shipping for the return. Bullsnit. Oh well...

Assuming you don't have something that's causing an actual lean condition they should be very similar to each other if not identical. I have never been under one of these so I can't draw any conclusions about their accessibility or lack thereof. If they aren't too bad to get to you could try clearing the codes then swapping the B1 and B2 sensors around, then driving it for awhile. If it throws a lean code for the other bank then you know that the problem is most likely the sensor itself and not the cat or an exhaust leak.

If you end up needing to pull one or more of the sensors out I've found that the best way to do it is to hit them with PB blaster every day for a week or so, then drive the car and get it nice and hot then get a wrench on them before they have a chance to cool down. It has a lot of potential to be uncomfortable but still beats rounding one off. That's how I got one against the firewall in my camry. Hot? Very. Smells like burning skunk piss? You bet. But it broke loose on the first try and I was able to thread it the rest of the way out by hand.

Pulling the sensors is the easy part. Getting to them and finding what plugs they are is the hard part. I've got to log them. I need a new laptop or laptop battery to properly do that but my OBD reader will do real time but no logging. VCDS will do it though.

Both banks are throwing S2 leans but B1 (P0171 code) is the one that flags the CEL.

If you go to one of those Mail Box USA places, you can tell them to ship it media class...that's the absolute LOWEST shipping rate they save for junk mail and magazines. Find a shop that does chroming and take your steel handle to them maybe.

Oh...heard some belt noise today. I reached in and checked the belts. Alternator is good. AC belt is a bit loose and when I pull on it I can hear some crackling. So I quit pulling on it LOL. Time to change it.

Figures, though. I have been running that AC for two summers straight with no problems. Belt is getting tired.

The handle was sold to you as chrome, correct? If so, it's misrepresentation of product and you should be entitled to a full refund including shipping.

Yep, I damn sure wouldn’t pay return shipping because they lied about it being chrome.

I have used rockauto for years. The return policy is shit. But seeing how something was misrepresented, they should bear the burden. The flaw in the slaw is there is no human you can contact. All communication is done via email.

I’ve spoken to somebody on the phone at rockauto a few years ago. I ordered some brake lines that were wrong so they just refunded my money and told me to keep them because it wasn’t worth shipping them back.

If they don't want to play I'd do a charge back on the card used to purchase them.
