Looks like Ford is getting back in the small pickup market. Saw an article that Ford is getting ready to produce the Maverick, a throw back to the small pickup of the 80's. Sounds like a good idea to me.

But it’s a Ford.

So many roads this thread can go... let's keep it clean.
There was another thread where names for manuf were discussed. I still like "Fifteenth on Race Day". ![]() ![]()

Looked up some stuff on it. Appear it'll be IRS. Basically a minivan with a bed. That's all most folks need. Most with big ol F350s and such prance around and never actually use the truck for truck stuff.

I'd bet it won't have a "full size" bed and not even qualify for being a "truck" IMO. The leaked pictures show it's not even that small.

Never heard of a Ford truck ever being called Maverick. Ford Ranger, Ford Courier, F150, F100. The Maverick was a 70's econo box car.

I'm guessing cute ute/fwd underpinnings, with a small bed. Meh.

The show ran for five seasons from September 22, 1957, to July 8, 1962, on ABC.
