Replaced the other radiator fan last night. Glad I did! It gets kinda angry with the AC on and sitting in traffic. It got really hot while my dad was driving and he didn't pay attention to the water temps. Fans on and AC off and it came down like a rock. Pretty cool!

Apparently when the intake air temps skyrocket the water temps follow. Saw 165F intake air temps which is nuts! As soon as we started moving it dropped to 95F or lower. As soon as it dropped to 110F or lower water temps started to plummet below 195F.

Traffic is Seattle sucks. Worst traffic I've ever seen. Until we got to Seattle I though Portland traffic is bad. Portland is bad but seatlle is bad with terrible drivers!

Yup. It always makes me chuckle a little when people complain about Portland traffic. Not that it doesn't suck, but it can't hold a candle to the puget sound area. On the worst of days that shit spans from Marysville (a little north of Everett) all the way down to Olympia. They're not very polite drivers either.

Pretty much. The last couple of times I have been to Seattle I decided to take the bus instead. When you sit above the roofline of most cars and look out the window it's pretty scary how many people are using their phones or otherwise distracted while driving. A few months ago my folks were broadsided by a girl who was on the phone and ran a very red light. Fortunately nobody got hurt but her car was crushed like a soda can and their car was at the body shop for 2 months.

So far in the area I've seen cars go through every red light. The stop and go traffic is dumb. Too many people. Most of them are on their phones. Its pretty scary. Saw a few ladies doing their make up taking selfies at 70+MPH.

Doesn't help that I get pissed off at bad driving easily. Good thing my dad was driving for the Seattle junk. I would have been foaming at the mouth.

We got 34MPG over 340 miles on the tank with about 100 of that combines city/highway before leaving. Not too bad for 70MPH and some hills.

Not bad. My '98 corolla would get about that. It was a great beater but sadly I had to sell it before moving down here. I'm probably not old enough not have seen it all when it comes to bad driving but I have to think it's close. I grew up in NM where you can get your license at 15 1/2 and the driving test can be passed by anybody with a pulse. Couple that with one of the worst drinking problems in the nation and you've got a recipe for disaster. Up until a few years ago there was no state law against talking on the phone while driving. I've seen all kinds of stuff there...road rage, people obviously hammered behind the wheel, even a gun pulled out in traffic once.

These are tough suckers, but, to me, weaker than dish water...

I bought a 1996 model for 300 bucks 13 years ago for my oldest daughter. My youngest daughter is driving it now. I have replaced the transmission twice, but the engine is still going strong at over 500,000 on it. (not sure of the mileage, the odometer has 341+ showing, but it didn't work for several years)...

They don't make much power, that's for sure! Haha! It's got a couple synchros that are kinda unhappy. Oh well. As long as I'm nice to it it should last for a while.

36MPG with retarded Seattle traffic and 70MPH for the rest of it. Not too shabby.
