Default Identify that part

How about a thread dedicated to identifying parts?

I've got a part I found, plugged inline with some wiring between the radiator and the driver's side headlight.

Actually, there is the mystery part (1) and a connector (2):

Is the part marked 2 the.... ugh the name escapes me... it's the thing that's connected to the AC drier whatever that's called. That connector looks very similar to the one that's on my drier.

Not sure what #1 is. I either don't have that on my VG30i or it's in a different place.

One is the power steering pressure switch, that bumps the idle up when you turn the steering wheel.
