I think my variable wiper swap write up is easier to figure out, it's also a sticky:

Another write-up! Good to know.

Your write-up didn't say what you did with the intermittent amplifier. Did you find a way to wire up to the stock location under the hood or did you rig something up under the dash like the other write-ups show?

Yes I did, post #4:

"When I cut the plugs off the donor 96 Hardbody I got about 6 inches of wire for the wiper switch and wiper amplifier plug. This length was long enough to just make all my connections and after taping up all the wires to place the wiper amplifier under the dash out of the way.

I used a tie wrap and secured it to the bottom of the steering column, used a few more tie wraps and secured the wires out of the way, and ran the power wire to the fuse box inside the dash (had it connected from the front of the fuse block just to test the switch). In the future I may connect the power wire to the backside of the fuse box, but for now it's fine how it is."

Well I found some motivation and just finished the intermittent wiper mod! They work! Took me about 2 hrs total. 1 hour last night figuring out the wiring and drawing my own diagram and 1 hour to install. Going to be so nice for Portland's rain 2/3 of the year. Speed adjustment knob works too so I can adjust the intervals. Toughest part was connecting the power to the back of the fuse box. Its tight in there and those wires have no slack. Otherwise its just cutting and connecting wires.

YES THANK YOU! I found your write up last night and used it to make my diagram. Yours was the only one that made sense to me. My '88 was slightly different but all the colors matched so it worked great.

Adjusted the parking brake tight again and rotated the tires while I was at it. Also emptied all the leaves out of the blower cage and gave the interior a much-needed vacuuming.

Found 2 park light lenses on an 86.5 4x4 Hardbody at the yard today, along with a couple of 720s.

Got the headlights sorted out on the hardbody. Accidentally popped a projector shroud off the drivers side light so I pulled it and trimmed that today then readjusted the lights. Driving it tonight and it all looks good. It puts the lights on my car to shame, especially on low beam. It's amazing how much the headlight lens affects things. I think the bulbs and ballasts in the truck are starting to get worn out.

Put my red truck in storage. Snow and salt came this week. Winter sucks.
