Default Missing fuel tank straps - do I need them?

I have an 89 Nissan HB D21 shortbed, and I thought, before I paid someone to replace the fuel pump/assembly, my gas tank had straps around the belly of the tank. Now that the job has been done, guy long gone, I have been noticing a little bit of knocking coming from the rear of the truck on the passenger side. I crawled under to take a look, and noticed there are no straps cradling the tank. Don't know exactly what is making the noise, but my question is should there be gas tank straps, and if so, how worried should I be about finding someone who can install them? ( I don't have the tools or strength to drop the tank, that's why I paid someone to replace the fuel pump inside the tank).

I haven't done this job but I thought they were just bolted in, no straps. I think its three bolts in the front and three in the rear. You have to remove the skid plate in order to see where it mounts. If it wasn't so hot outside I'd go out and look underneath my truck but the weather is stupid here right now. In order for the fuel tank to make a knock I think multiple bolts would need to be loose.

6 bolts hold the tank in. 3 in front, 3 in rear.
