The vast majority of those companies either closed the doors or sold out to lesser companies. Soundstream, PPI, MB Quart, ect. Not even close to the quality they once were. Image Dynamics, Audio Control, JL and Memphis still make nice quality gear.

Eric Stevens, image dynamics founder, has started a new company called Stevens Audio. I’m running a pair of his 8” midbass drivers in my 370z. I love them.

Oz Audio made a comeback a couple years ago. I looked into their line and it seems they are now made in China. Are the Stevens Audio made in the USA? I would definitely be interested in running them in my 280Z project if so. I planned to use ID speakers and subs with Audio Control amps in that car.

Image Dynamics still produces some products in the US. I will still have to check out the Stevens Audio stuff.
