Could be a idle air control valve. I had an issue with mine and the idle hanging around 1,200 -1.500 rpm after stopping at a light and stuff sometimes. I unplugged mine for now till I can get a new one. The only issues it caused unplugging it was it threw a code ofcorse and at first start up the idle dips to like 300 till I hit the throttle or wait about 10-20 secs for it to rise on its own. The location of it depends on the year of you Fronty.

On my old B13 Sentra I would disassemble and clean the IAC with throttle body cleaner on a regular basis. I will be attempting to do the same on the hardbody soon - same issue.

My 98 is warms up normally, then the idle starts going high to low, and high to low. It's also making a hissing sound. I think there is a vaccum leak somewhere. Going to check the idle control valve today. Hopefully that helps
