Default truck won't start sometimes

My 93, 2wd manual, KA24E, 90% of the time it will start fine, than I can shut it off and go back out to go somewhere and it won't start, it will crank but won't start. I just replaced the plugs and the rest of the tune up stuff is fairly new. Was wondering if it could be the fuel filter as that is due to be replaced.

When it doesn't start, I'll shut off the key and try again, sometimes it will start other times it take 3 tries.

Anyone ever experience this?

Thanks all

have you verified fuel pressure and ignition spark when the truck is doing this?

and there is a fuel pump relay. under the hood on the passenger fender.

Replace fuel relay and fuel filter.

Then try again. Don't forget to relieve the fuel pressure first, and disconnect the negative cable on the battery so you don't get blown up and stuff.
