I tested the brakes on my datsun 100 times before I finally drove it on the road....or let my wife drive it on the road actually. I let her take the first spin.

Adding a walk around of the truck running right now as an update.
See it here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BPv...ature=youtu.be

It IS blowing tons of white/light blue smoke, so I'll be doing a compression test soon and going from there. As long as the block isn't cracked I'm happy. Also I have some massive exhaust leaks. BUT it runs and drives!!! I need to inspect the steering and driveline to make sure everything there is in order, but I'll wait on that until this engine is making less smoke. I hope it's some Evap thing that's clogged... but maybe not. Any common failures that might do this you guys know about?

Probably from sitting for a while. Usually clears up after a little. Just keep an eye on temps and the oil.

I have no instrument cluster... haha

But I'll keep an eye on my oil level... I think I actually put too much oil in it (I swear I'm not usually that much of an idiot) so I'll check it out tomorrow and maybe fix it. But I definitely need to do some exhaust work to get rid of the leaks.

Thanks all for the encouragement. I think for now I'll go through the maintenance stuff and get tags for it and drive the piss out of it for a little and see if the smoke clears up. I'll make a few DIY videos for the truck as well, as I see there aren't many of them around.

After thinking about it I'm going to soak the combustion chamber in Marvel Mystery Oil for the weekend while I'm in there checking out the PCV and all.

I was going to get tags put on this today, but with all the snow I decided to wait. So instead I pulled the plugs and am soaking the cylinders in marvel mystery oil, hoping to unstick the piston rings (if that's what's wrong) to reduce the oil consumption. 2 plug wires basically disintegrated when I took them off and the plugs looked to be original, so I'm replacing all of that. The air filter looked horrible, so I'm replacing that too. The PCV filter was also totally full of crap so I shook it out and got a bunch of crud out of it and put it back because I'm too lazy to actually replace some bullshit sponge.

I may be picking up some tires tomorrow. By the end of the month I'll have it tagged and driveable.

Make sure you use NGK plugs, the nissans are picky about the plugs
