Default Relocating Exhaust Questions...

What's up guys...

This is more of a question for anyone bagged...

I'll be bagging my 2000 in the very near future and was wondering what everyone did with their exhaust, as it hangs below the frame and obviously needs to be raised up.

Did you just raise the entire system up?
Did you remove the secondary cat? Sensor?
If you removed the secondary cat, did you have any CEL issues, is you kept the sensor?

Tuck it all up - there is room in the downpipe area to section and get it above the frame. Remove the cat, and use a spark plug anti-foul spacer on the rear O2 - may still get a CEL but its not the end of the world. Getting past the carrier bearing x-member and depending on your link/tank setup is the real challenge if you want to exit anywhere near the rear... personally I said F' it and ran the smallest muffler I could find and turned it down before the carrier x-member - actually didn't sound to terrible haha... much prefer the true duals and v8 I have now though

Thanks for the pic! That helps a lot!

I was planning to have it turn down right behind the cab, but really wasn't sure if I needed to keep the cat or not. I am leaning towards deleting it.

What muffler did you use? Magnaflow?

yea it was the smallest one they make I think - 11" body.

If your not going to have issues with emissions inspection or testing I would remove it - spacing the rear O2 out may even keep it from throwing a code
