Default Project850

Here's the story. It's an '88 Nissan D21 "E". My grand dad got the truck some time ago. He passed away several years ago, and my Aunt & Uncle had the truck, but rarely used it. My dad got it, sold it to a buddy, got it back when he passed away unexpectedly, drove it minimally for a few years, then I got it last year. I really don't know who did what to it, but it has obviously been wrecked and it has been abused. When I got it, it had 268k miles, and it is still pretty close to that. It runs great, minus a little skip (more on that later) and an oil leak. So my plan is to get it up to snuff, with a little bit of TLC. First thing I did was look for a good Nissan Forum for info. and here I am. You can follow me and the progress of Project850 on Instagram @poboi850

This was the day I got it, DS door handle was dangling, but worked. Rims looked horrible and the rear wheel cylinders leaked.

Next thing to do was work on the Interior. When the local JY got a XcaB d21, I was able to get the door panels

and a nice set of buckets

I was able to get some speaker covers on another run, still need a stereo and speakers.

Snagged the Explorer Console out of my Ranger, for the cup holders and storage space. It worked out quite nice,IMO.

Now on the mechanical stuff. the first thing I noticed was the leaking cylinders. Since I worked at a brake shop for a few years, this was no challenge for me, and should be pretty simple for almost anybody.

I guess i should add that i named it "Project850" for a couple of reasons. 1. The area code for where i live is (850). 2. When i got on this forum, i read the D21 history, and Nissan called the D21, Project 850. Which i thought was a pretty cool coincidence. Another cool thing i learned, Nissan called their white,"Vail white", my last name is Vail. How freakin' kool. I dont plan on goin "white", but i thought it was kool
