Scrapped the engine and the rest of the body. Scrap is wayyy down. Intake manifold gaskets and oil pump showed up. Cleaned up the oil pan and pick up tube. Started putting the intake manifold back together. All while moving every thing o own into storage. 100 little steps to make one big leap.

If it was it doesn't look like it now.
So a little update on this Pathfinder project. It appears the engine blocks between the 300ZX and the Pathfinder are different. So not all vg30e engines are the same. It appears that the Pathfinder and the 300ZX share the same engine block very early on in the Pathfinders production run. By late 1986 they had already changed the block to the more modern vg30e block in the Pathfinder. The 300ZX carried on using the same block that it it had since the mid 80s. This presents a problem as I'm trying to use a 300ZX block from 1986 as the power plant for this Pathfinder. So of course the motor mounts that I have are off a later model vg30e and do not have the correct bolt holes to mount onto the 300ZX block. I went to the junkyard and inspected and early Hardbody pickup from 1986 and it did not have the correct mounts either. So I'm going to try using 300ZX engine mounts attached to the Pathfinder frame. This might work but I'm afraid it might push the engine back a few inches and if it does that's going to change my plan significantly. It is my hope that the 300ZX mounts will leave the engine in the correct position so I don't have to take any drastic measures. We'll just have to wait and see. Check out my YouTube channel I have a few videos about this project some updates and what not if you're interested. The link is in my signature.
