Well it just so happens I have a set of Thorleys from a part out I did a couple years ago.

Nothing crazy to report, did some minor work like cleaning and new spark plugs. Also chased all the exhaust manifold bolt holes since the bolts seemed to go in hard, nice and good now. Next is getting that bushing out of the end of the crank for an auto so i can tap in a pilot bushing for 5 speed.

While the ground was still frozen solid I pulled the 5 speed transmission, flywheel, crossmember, clutch and pressure plate out of my rolling 1990 pathfinder frame. Neighbors had to love seeing that scene in my driveway first thing in the morning.

Saturday night i pulled out the auto bushing out of the crank end, tapped in a new pilot bushing and rear main seal. Getting closer to making this happen.

How did you pull the bushing?

I drilled 2 holes on each of the bushing. Then i attacked it with a dremel cutoff wheel. Once the metal was thin enough i hit it with a hammer to crush it inward. Then it just slipped out into my hand.

Exedy/LUK clutch kit acquired.
Gates Timing Belt Acquired.
Derale engine oil cooler acquired.
Auto pilot bushing removed and manual pilot bushing installed.
New rear main installed.

Engine will be joined with transmission very soon then the entire assembly will be shoved into the truck and bolted in.
