mail came.
cheap header and brake lever
and put a wink mirror up. I like them

got a header. $100. cast iron was cracked.
welded EGR stuff closed like a pro

all the bolts/nuts were cooperative

DEAR REF....

no finished. ended the night with this....
weird bubble flange meets velocity stack looking pipe.
il cut off the buble and weld an adapter for regular pipe

so with a header I decided to cap off the EGR port too.....

that meant all 578 hoses had to go.
seriously its a lot of hoses.
aparantly there is also a vacuum booster for an internal butterfly in the intake manifold

should I just get a 240 intake? or plum the vacuum back to the think I ripped out?

*EDIT* I CUT THE PLUNGER ROD FOR THE BUTTERFLIES SO THE SPRING WOULD BE DEAD, THEN TACK WELDED THE MECHANISM ON THE BACK OF THE MANIFOLD FULL OPEN. DROVE IT FEELS GOOD, FEELS PEPPY NOW WITH NO EMISSIONS HOSES JUNK, NO CAT. HEADER AND BUTTERFLIES WIDE OPEN TACK WELDED.**

need to cut the ball end off that header .. it chokes it down from 2.5 to 2in almost .. get a band clamp or weld a vband onto it and let that baby flow

cut the ball end off. got adapters. welded up with 110v ARC DC
not an expert welder. not the best welder but it stuck.

got this gizmo thing in the mail.
wont simply bolt to the floor next to the shifter.
because shifter hole is ridiculous .
made a plate that will span the hole and bolt to floor.
..gotta figure out the lines for it.

at the same time..i need to slow down and do 1 thing at a time.

this is with shifter in 2nd gear.

I might tack these on then cut out all the rusty rear quarters,
since the truck will be lowered and stretched out
