Ok I couldn't find PIN 17 .The bulb is not going on under the clock, I have replaced my bulb just to be on the sure side.
Heres my conclusion:
Because originally my HB didnt have a clock nor the electronics pieces on the gauge cluster. Also my odometer wasnt working. I got a 94-95 gauge cluster from the junkyard. The Odometer works and everything but since it had the clock on it. I wanted that to work as well. I never thought it was going to be a pain.
So since the HB wiring was never supplying power to the clock or bulb . There is no power or direct or ignition..
So it would be more of a wiring mess to get the bulb to work especially cause i would have to pig tail to the ignition or dimmer.
THE ONLY way i can get it going is to attach a bulb with 2 wires going to and from the dimmer switch.... JUST FOR THE BACKLIGHT ON THE CLOCK !!!!! lol.... I know it sounds RIGGED..
Alot of wiring just for that !!!
SO I am going to leave it without the backlight.
The Clock does work. and I thank you ALABAMA and RED.
But good luck red if you get it going !!!!

When I get a chance, I'll look at a diagram for a 94, it might be different. I've been looking at one for a 97. It yours from a truck or a pathfinder?

My original gauges were from a 96 hardbody ( green cluster on first page )
The blue cluster was from a pathfinder is the one I put in my truck. ( also first page )

i just swapped in a cluster from a 95 pathfinder to my 95 v6 hardbody and the clock and backlight worked without any wiring. when i turn on my headlights or turn them off the back light changes accordingly. I love having a clock in the dash glad i didn't have to do any additional wiring.

Ok, bringing this old thread back up. I finally got around to fixing my clock and trip meter lights. So it turns out that I had power to pin 30 already...It's amazing what non-burned out bulbs will do for lighting! haha...I stuck a 74-cwhp3 mini wedge LED from superbrightleds.com in there.

My LED's came out Bluish white :/
I want that crisp white, so those are the ones in the dash?

I used the factory wiring on my dash clock when I added it, I jump from white with black wire for ign source to the light behind the clock and added a 12v source from radio to pin 34 scotch locked wire to wire took about 15 mins to get clock and light working as they were installed from factory, the light come on with the key and dims when lighs are turned on all you do is supply power to acc pin from ign pin on on back of cluster

my 96 hardbody base model has no radio, could this be the reason my clock and trip dont work on my swapped cluster from a 96 hb xe? possibly no fuses installed from the factory?
