Default Column shift vs floor shift??

Are these transmissions interchangeable between trucks? I have a 94 column shift that has very low miles on a rebuild and, a 97 with a floor shift that I may want swap transmissions in.

I would think they would be the same but don't know, I would be asking as well. I only have manual transmissions so don't know.

The linkage on the column shift is where you might get hung up. It is quite ugly down there.

If worse comes to worse, I could swap over the shifter parts too but I'd rather keep it floor shift.

Static_Drop,

Curious if you ever went through with the column to floor shift swap over? I'm in that boat right now with a floor shift '90 I picked up for el cheapo (tranny no good) and am looking at a '92 with a blown motor but new (less than 3k miles on it) tranny but is column shift.

The transmissions are the same, and will work just fine, you just have to make sure you put the one together with the parts that comes out of it, the only difference is going to be where the linkage is under the truck but all is compatable with each other just take your time

I figured it was after doing some further (and better) forum searching.
