Default No start when hot!!

cant figure it out for nothing. need everyones help!! i have been through several batties thinkin that was the problem but i put a NEW optima in my truck let it run for a lil bit to fill my tank. i cut the truck off and tried to start it like 5 mins later and it acted if the battery was dead. I was PISSED so i went inside sat around for about an hour went back out adn the truck fired right up. Could this be because the timing is off or what. turning the dizzy counter clock wise doesnt help either. It only does it when the truck is hot. My mustang will not start if you advance the timing too much through the dizzy, are these ka24s the same. IF I CAN FIGURE IT OUT THE TRUCK IS GOIN ON MAUTOFIED FOR SALE LOL.

There is a contradiction in your description.
You say it acts like the battery is dead but you ask about distributor issues.

Does it crank over? IE: is the starter spinning?

ok let me clear this up WHEN THE TRUCK GETS HOT IT WILL NOT START. IT ACTS LIKE THE BATTERY IS DEAD THE MOTOR DRAGS AND WILL NOT START! ON SOME CARS WHEN YOU ADVANCE THE TIMING THROUGH THE DISTRIBUTOR THE ENGINE WILL DRAG LIKE THE BATTERY IS GOING DEAD. NO THE STARTER DOES NOT SPIN OVER WHEN THE TRUCK IS HOT. WHEN IT COOLS DOWN IT STARTS EVERYTIME

i have been told chevys are like that. i have never seen a car just do it when it gets hot but im no expert either. my drag car will do it if you advance the timing through the distributor but it will do it ALL THE TIME not just some time. i think this weekend im gonna pull the oil pump and dizzy and retime everything

if it's acting like the battery is dead when it does this, i'd look at the starter. check to see if you're getting power to the starter when it does this. this is assuming it doesn't even TRY to turn over, it just makes that clicking sound.
