those dont come off with the vc though.

if you havent done it yet, i used superclean degreaser and sprayed it liberally around then took a soft brush to the stubborn stuff and then used a squeezebottle to rinse it off. NOTE: i did this before i removed the VC just to work with a cleaner part.

a new soft cam seal will hold and stay dry.....they get more heat and get hard faster than the v/c gasket, hence the need for the sealer.
