Default trans problems

My 1986 D21 Auto wont shift out of 1st gear... I wonder if yall know of any common issues or quick easy fixes????

in my experience the words easy and transmission rarely go together

+1, got to start somewhere, its easy and cheap.... then its crowbar on the wallet time! thinking shift solenoids..

Check the rubber vacuum line coming off the firewall near the rear area of the valve cover. Also check the rubber line near the trans that the same line runs down to it.
This is the vacuum line that operates the transmission. The vacuum modulator is what makes it shift out of first gear.

I changed fluid and filter and no change. It looked good before, but I just got it and changed all the fluids the day I picked it up. I'm gonna try the vacuum lines next.
