I'm at the point where my factory shocks are toast. Only lasted 188k miles so I guess I can't complain! Front are wasted and bounce more than flubber. The rears seem to still be decent but in things like washboard they lock up and the rear skitters around. Makes it impossible to go uphill in 2wd on a washboard road.
I don't know anything about companies like KYB. I've read that all but the top line of Rancho are junk. Apparently they were bought out and the owning company is riding on their reputation. It appears Bilstein no longer has an offering. Nothing by Koni for the D21. I'm not afraid to spend a few extra bucks. Would like something that will hold up to the infrequent heavy hauling, some off-road but mostly light loads and paved and gravel roads. Want something that will last and perform well.

KYB heavy duty mono max, I can vouch for. I would not be afraid to go with skyjacker, Rancho, or bilstein. You’ll get what u pay for and all of these are higher quality shocks.

Forgot about skyjacker. I was disheartened to hear that Rancho apparently has not held their quality.
Bilstein does not show products for the D21 on their website. I was hoping to use mono tubes. They should perform better.

I bought two KYB excel-g shocks for the (pathfinder) rear. Got both rear ones from rockauto for under 25 bucks shipped. Gonna grab some for the front probably after the 4th. Depends on how much money gets burnt up for fireworks lol

I’ve got excel g’s on my car. Rides like a caddy. No pun intended. Mono max on the truck. A lot stiffer but heavier duty.
