Default Catch Cans &/?or Meth Injection anybody?

Anybody ever do the "Catch Can" mod to their Z24i?
I've seen a few different set ups on Ford Rangers, but was wondering if it is worth doing to my D21.
Also I've heard of Meth Injection into the TB, has anybody done either of or both of these mods? If so, could I get a link or pics, it would really help me out and be greatly appreciated.

A catch can isnt really useful on TBI. It is mostly for direct injected cars as they are more susceptible to oil buildup in the intake where as port and TBI will wash off the oil. It is also used in some turbo applications to catch any oil in the air which also isnt a factor on the Z24i.

The idea behind meth injection is to cool the intake charge. That in turn means a more dense air charge and more fuel used. Vehicles with turbos and super chargers can benefit from meth injection. I doubt much gain will be seen on a Z24i. Id be surprised if you saw any gains off the dyno. If you are running a "cold" air intake or a filter on top of the TBI unit youll probably see a larger gain by going back to the stock intake or at least routing to pull air outside the engine bay.

Thanks Deerhurst, for that info. Ive seen a few different setups and didn't know if it would be worth it to try on my Z24.

Turbo is only real power gain, but costly for how much hp you will get.

I don't think it would be worth it. Especially meth injection. NA you are not compressing air so you are not building heat in it. You also have to keep up on keeping the tank full with meth. I believe you normally use DI water.

On a general note, if your TBI system is working properly and you have few if any problems with it...I would NOT mess around with it.

Those systems are tricky enough as it is, especially after so many years since they were discontinued. If they start going screwy on you, it is sometimes hard to bring everything back proper. Been there, done that.
